New Pro Vice Chancellor appointed

The University of Cape Coast council at a special meeting held on the 21st of November, 2012 considered the report of the vetting committee and the results of convocation elections and unanimously appointed Professor John Nelson Buah of the department of crop science as the new Pro Vice chancellor for a 3 year term.

In a statement issued and signed by the registrar Mr. John Kofi Nyan, it stated that in accordance with the statute 10.2 of the University of Cape Coast statute, 2012, management appointed a committee to vet five person nominated by the vice chancellor for the position of Pro Vice Chancellor and to submit three persons to the registrar for the purpose of election by convocation.

 

Subsequently, the vetting committee submitted its report and recommendations on the 26th of November 2012 and convocation voted on three candidates on the 13th December.

Prof. John Nelson Buah takes over from the Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah whose term of office as the Pro vice chancellor ended on the 31st December 2012.

His appointment takes effect from the 1st January 2013.
