A. Pre-Celebration Activities

I. February  9, 2013: Launching of SRC @ 50  Week Celebration
 
II. February 9, 2013: Donation of items to Cape School for the Deaf

III. February 14, 2013:      S.R.C. Chocolate Day (Distribution of chocolate to students who are in chocolate colours.)

IV. February  22, 2013: Book and Investment Fair

V. February 23, 2013: Cleanup Exercise on campus

COOKING   COMPETITION.  There will be a cooking competition which will feature the visually impaired from all the Halls of residence. The individual representatives will be given an aide to assist the participant in the course of the cooking. The competition is geared towards bringing out the hidden talents in them and also involving them in the week celebration.
The venue is the forecourt of Adehye Hall and the time is 10:00am

MORNING – PUBLIC LECTURE: There will be a public lecture on the topic: The impact of student leadership on tertiary education on social change, UCC; SRC as a case study.
Main Speaker: Prof George K .T Oduro

The time for the lecture is 10:00a.m and the venue is Auditorium 900, University of Cape Coast.

EVENING – PROCESSION: There will a mass procession by students through the principal streets and halls on campus. The purpose is to increase the level of awareness among the students populace. We expect over 2000 students to participate in this activity. Procession starts at 7:00p.m.

EVENING – AGRO FIE. There will be an entertainment packaged duded “Agro fie” at the forecourt of Casely Hayford Hall at 6:00 pm. Participants will be engaged in an intellectual quiz competition. These representatives will be selected from the hall of residence. The ultimate winner will be awarded handsomely.

MORNING –LAUNCHING OF UCC @ 50 HISTORY BOOK,THE BOOK OF READINGS,LEADERSHIP AND SUCCESS SUMMIT: This is a 2 – hour leadership and business seminar to help students take charge of their life and maximise their achievements before and after graduation. This programme is geared towards motivating students towards a winning attitude that will improve their point of view about life, business and themselves as a whole.

The venue of the programme is SMS Auditorium at exactly 09:00am.

EVENING – THEATRE AND CULTURAL NIGHT: There will a cultural display by the cultural troupe of the Centre for National Culture at the main auditorium alongside theatre performances by the Department of Theatre Arts from the University of Cape Coast.

This programme is geared towards creating an atmosphere for students to have fun and release stress. The time for the programme is 7:00pm.

MORNING – INTER-UNIVERSITY PARLIAMENTARY DEBATE: The UCC Students’ Parliament shall host another institution’s Parliament in an intellectual debate at the UCC House of Parliament. Starts at 9:00a.m and ends at 12:00 midday and the venue is the Parliament House, UCC.

EVENING – LEADERSHIP SEMINAR FOR RELIGIOUS LEADERS: This programme is geared towards empowering leaders of various religious leaders on campus. It will take place at SRC Conference room, Starts at 6:00p.m and ends at 8:30p.m. Resource Persons;

F. Friday, March  1, 2013

MORNING – DURBAR AND INAUGRATION OF CENTRAL CADET: This will be the climax of the celebration. The event will start at 10:00a.m, at the Casely Hayford Field. In attendance shall be all traditional councils from halls of residence.

MUSLIM SUMMIT: This seminar package is being organised specially for our Muslim brothers and sisters. It is scheduled to take place at the Sasakawa Conference room at 10:00am – 12:00pm

EVENING –  WULOMEI NIGHT. This programme is an entertainment package that will feature a life band performance from the Wulomei band. The performance is scheduled to take place at Kwame Nkrumah Hall Forecourt. Time 7:00pm    `

G. Saturday, March 2, 2013

NIGHT – STREET CARNIVAL AND  BARBECUE  : This programme is an entertainment package for students of the University of Cape Coast.  This will feature a seasoned Artiste. It is scheduled to take at the Science Taxi Rank. It will start at exactly 8:00pm          

H. Sunday, February 3, 2013

MORNING – THANKSGIVING SERVICE; there will be a joint thanksgiving service at the congregational grounds. Starts at 8:00a.m

EVENING – GOSPEL ROCK SHOW: This programme will feature a gospel artiste and the venue is the Adehye Hall Forecourt. All singing groups on campus will be performing.
